Our 45-Minute Ride is ideal for those that have limited experience with horses but show confidence in being able to take the reins with instruction. Riders will be introduced to their horse and will mount with the assistance of a mounting block.
PLEASE READ THE WEIGHT RESTRICTION GUIDELINES ON THE MAIN HORSEBACK RIDING PAGE.
Riders will be given instruction on how to hold the reins, how to control their horse with the reins, as well as how to start and stop their horse. Our farm hand will be monitoring and offering instruction from center ring as needed. Horses may be asked to move at a walk, trot, or canter based upon the experience and comfort level of the rider but will not be lead.

-We are experiencing a problem with parents signing children up for this ride that are simply not capable of participating in this Experience. The 45-Minute Ride is NOT a lead line ride. The rider will need to use the reins to control their own horse inside the riding ring. We do offer instruction, however we do not have the staff to lead horses around the ring for 45 minutes. If you, or more commonly the child you are signing up, is not capable of riding with reins please book our 20-Minute Ride instead keeping in mind that they will still need to be capable of balancing and maintaining an upright position in the saddle. Additionally, please understand that for safety reasons, nervous or anxious riders will not be permitted to ride so please do not sign someone up for this experience thinking “they will be fine”. ANYONE REQUIRING TO BE LED ON THIS RIDE WILL BE LIMITED TO 20 MINUTES WITH NO ADJUSTMENT IN COST.
